What types of guitars San Diego musicians can find at Music Mart?

Music Mart offers a wide selection of guitars in San Diego, including acoustic guitars, electric guitars, bass guitars, and ukuleles, along with premium accessories for players of all skill levels.

I'm new to playing and looking for my first guitar in San Diego. What's the best way to choose between an acoustic and an electric guitar here at Music Mart?

That's a great question for anyone starting their musical journey in San Diego! For beginners, acoustic guitars are fantastic because they're versatile and don't require an amplifier. Brands like Yamaha and Kala offer excellent entry-level acoustic guitars and ukuleles that are easy to play. If you're drawn to a wider range of sounds and styles, like rock, blues, or pop, an electric guitar might be more exciting. We have a fantastic selection of electric guitars from brands like Ibanez and PRS, perfect for beginners, but remember you’ll also need an amplifier and cable. Think about the music genres you love most when making your choice. Our staff are always here to help you try out different models!

I'm looking to upgrade my guitar and need accessories. Can you recommend the best strings and a reliable tuner for my Martin or Taylor acoustic guitar, especially for San Diego's climate?

Absolutely! For your high-quality Martin or Taylor acoustic, we highly recommend strings like Elixir or D'Addario – they offer great tone, longevity, and are generally excellent performers in various climates, including San Diego. For tuning, a digital tuner is essential for accuracy. Our Korg and D'Addario tuners are very popular and easy to use, even in bright San Diego sunlight. We also have capos and straps that will complement your instrument beautifully. Investing in quality strings and a good tuner will make a noticeable difference in your playing experience.

What's the process for trying out electric guitars and amplifiers at your San Diego store, and do you offer setup services?

We encourage everyone to try before they buy! When you visit Music Mart for electric guitars from brands like PRS or Ibanez, you can naturally play them through our selection of amps. Just let one of our team members know which guitar and amp combination you're interested in trying. We also understand that a well-set-up guitar is crucial for playability. Yes, we offer professional guitar setup services right here in San Diego, ensuring your instrument plays its best, whether it's a new purchase or one you've had for a while. This includes adjusting action, intonation, and more, tailored to your playing style.
